At Troutdale Dental, we maintain our dedication to providing for the oral healthcare needs of our community and their families even during this time of great uncertainty. The current COVID-19 pandemic has temporarily altered the way that we are providing this care.
Recent recommendations from the American Dental Association, Oregon Dental Board, and Oregon Governor Kate Brown, request that dentists cease all non-emergency dental care for the next few weeks. At Troutdale Dental we fully support these recommendations.
Reasons for limiting non-emergency dental care at our dental office:
Preserve personal protective equipment (PPE) such as surgical masks, gowns, and gloves, for healthcare workers treating those patients with COVID-19.
3% of all emergency room visits are dental related. By dental offices remaining open for only dental emergencies, we can alleviate the stress on ER’s so they can focus on those patients with COVID-19.
By decreasing our non-essential social interactions we hope to “flatten the curve” to relieve the stress on the medical community that is working so diligently to treat those patients with COVID-19.
What does this mean for you, your family, and your future dental appointments?
Just as you are, we are taking these changes one day at a time. We are rescheduling all routine dental visits such as cleanings, check-ups, and esthetic treatment such as veneers or whitening. We are reaching out to our patients a few days before their visit to reschedule. We are remaining open, although with altered hours, to treat dental emergencies in the Troutdale/Gresham area.
What may be considered a dental emergency and what to do if you experience one?
Above all, we are here for you!
If you are experiencing any of the above or have any questions, please call us at 503-674-8767 and we will take care of you.
